In a fast-moving content world, Shellcopter is building something more intentional. Founded by Shelly Das, the platform is focused on one clear mission, helping women from Northeast India find their voice and start creating. With over 8,000 followers on Instagram, Shellcopter has grown into a purpose-led community that blends content, confidence, and AI.
How did Shellcopter start and what problem is it solving?
An alumna of IIT Guwahati, Shelly did not begin as a content educator. She simply noticed a gap. There was no dedicated space for women from the Northeast who wanted to actively create content. So she built Shellcopter Academy, starting with the goal of helping even one woman show up online. What began as a small experiment has now evolved into a structured program with a growing community.
What makes Shellcopter’s content strategy unique and effective?
Shellcopter’s content stands out for its mix of storytelling and practical value. From personal journeys and behind-the-scenes moments to AI-led tips and student transformations, everything is designed to feel relatable and useful. Her reels often open with simple, honest hooks like “I started this because…” and draw viewers into narratives that feel real and unfiltered.
How does Shellcopter Academy help beginners?
Shellcopter Academy is a 45-day program that helps beginners become confident creators through niche-building, content planning, and AI-driven storytelling. Students also work on camera confidence, editing, and creating AI-powered assets, but the biggest change is internal. Many go from hesitation to posting their first videos.
The first cohort in early 2026 included around 8 to 10 women, each of whom created and published content for the first time. For Shelly, success is defined by these first steps. Her content reflects the same philosophy, building a community that actively engages, shares, and participates.
