Sufi Motiwala Ends Friendship With Apoorva Mukhija, Says “I Wanted Apoorva, Not Rebel Kid”
The bond that began on ‘The Traitors’ has now ended. Sufi opens up about why he cut ties with Apoorva Mukhija and clears rumours about clout-chasing.
When The Traitors aired, many viewers thought the entertainment industry had found its new best friends in Sufi Motiwala and Apoorva Mukhija. Their bond grew quickly, and fans on the internet embraced their friendship. For a while, it looked like this duo was inseparable, both on and off-screen. But now, things have changed. Just when audiences were cherishing their bond, Sufi has publicly confirmed that his friendship with Apoorva is over.
Sufi Clears the Air
Sufi Motiwala took to his social media handle to address the rumours surrounding their fallout. He clarified that his decision had nothing to do with clout or fame.
“No more lies. I’ve received a lot of texts saying that I’ve taken clout from Apoorva, and I’ve left her. I’ve literally never collaborated on a reel with her and have been on her YouTube twice, both of which were her content pieces entirely,” he wrote.
Sufi added that their bond was never about content. “So no, I’m not sorry. I didn’t use her for clout. In case you forgot, we were on the same show without knowing each other. I don’t need her clout. I wanted to be friends with Apoorva, not the Rebel Kid,” he clarified.

Why Sufi Distanced Himself
Sufi shared that the breaking point was the lack of accountability. He claimed that Apoorva did not address the online abuse he was receiving from her fans.
“I even requested her to ask her audience to calm down because they’ve been abusing me for no reason. Sadly, this person who called me her best friend has no concern for that, or the fact that maybe I’m hurt. THAT is why I’m not friends with her anymore. Keep it cute, keep it moving,” he stated.
According to Sufi, his attempts to communicate were ignored, which made him distance himself for his own peace of mind.
“I Worked My Way Up”
In his post, Sufi also expressed his frustration at the constant criticism and false claims.
“Idc about anything. You think I’m a horrible person, ok. But I have worked my a** off to build myself to where I am, and I won’t let a bunch of children discredit that by spreading misinformation,” he said.
Signs Were Already There
For those following closely, the cracks in their friendship were visible before this public statement. Fans noticed that the two had stopped mentioning each other on social media. Despite attending the same events, including one in Australia, they avoided posting together. Reportedly, Sufi has even unfollowed Apoorva on Instagram.
The End of a Short-Lived Bond
Sufi and Apoorva’s journey from co-stars to best friends was short but intense. Their bond on The Traitors made them internet favourites, but off-screen, things turned sour. Sufi’s statement has now confirmed what many fans suspected – their friendship is over.
