Sivasagar has faced particularly severe flooding during the current crisis, with rescue teams and relief workers operating across affected areas.

When Creator Reach Becomes Relief

The response from these creators highlights the growing role of digital communities during emergencies. Their efforts have taken different forms from eight-hour and 50-hour livestreams to crowdfunding, personal donations and on-ground relief work.
While creators cannot replace organised disaster-response systems, their ability to reach millions can help amplify urgent causes and mobilise donations quickly. As Assam works through the flood crisis and begins the longer process of rehabilitation, these initiatives show how a creator’s biggest resource can sometimes be the community they’ve built online.
