The Traitors Season 2 may have wrapped up with Krystle D’Souza and Rida Tharana emerging as the winning Traitors. However, clearly, the contestants were not done with each other just yet.
The reunion episode, hosted by Karan Johar, brought the contestants back together to revisit the betrayals, arguments, friendships and controversies that had followed them out of the palace. This time, there were no round tables, shields or secret murders to hide behind. Instead, there were just contestants finally saying what they thought of each other.
From Munawar Faruqui and Abhishek Malhan revisiting their rivalry to Krystle opening up about why she recruited Rida, here is everything that went down at The Traitors 2 reunion.
Karan Johar switched from host to full-time pot-stirrer
Karan Johar has spent the season playing the dramatic, slightly villainous host. However, the reunion gave him a chance to be much more like his Koffee With Karan self.
Instead of simply moderating the contestants, Karan pushed them to address old controversies, questioned their decisions and brought up things that had happened both inside and outside the game.
Basically, the reunion became less about the game and more about getting everyone to finally answer for it.
Munawar Faruqui and Abhishek Malhan revisited their rivalry
One of the biggest conversations of the reunion was the unfinished business between Munawar Faruqui and Abhishek Malhan.
Munawar’s elimination had already become one of the most discussed moments of the season. There were questions around whether Abhishek genuinely suspected him or simply saw him as a threat.
Abhishek revisited the controversy around the so-called “surgical strike” and the accusations that he had pushed Munawar under the bus.
Munawar, meanwhile, opened up about the votes that hurt him the most, particularly those from Rida Tharana and Harman. He also admitted that his equation with Rida had changed completely after the game.
He revealed that he had unfollowed Rida and did not want to maintain a relationship with her after feeling betrayed by her vote.
The conversation then turned to Abhishek, with Munawar suggesting that Abhishek was wary of him as a player. However, Abhishek had a rather direct response: if he had actually been scared of Munawar, he would not have sent him out of the game.
So yes, the rivalry definitely survived the show.
Krystle revealed why she recruited Rida
Krystle D’Souza and Rida Tharana may have won the season together. However, their reunion conversation made it clear that their partnership was anything but straightforward.
Krystle was asked about Rida’s gameplay as a Traitor and did not exactly hold back. She called it “horrible” and explained that recruiting Rida was part of her own strategy.
According to Krystle, she wanted Rida to take on some of the difficult tasks and draw attention away from her. Additionally, she admitted that she had planned to eventually use Rida as a shield and potentially throw her under the bus.
What makes this even more interesting is that Rida had initially suspected that Krystle was not much of an asset to the Traitors.
The two may have walked away with the trophy together. However, the reunion showed just how differently they viewed their time as partners.
Krystle and Abhishek’s old fight came back
The Krystle-Abhishek tension also resurfaced during the reunion.
Their original clash had revolved around Abhishek’s belief that the palace was too small for both him and Munawar. Krystle eventually admitted that eliminating Abhishek was partly about getting back at him.
She made it clear that she had not forgotten their earlier disagreement and saw his elimination as a form of revenge for what had happened between them.
So much for leaving the game at the palace.
Soundous finally learned more about her murder
Soundous Moufakir also got an emotional reality check during the reunion.
After leaving the show, Soundous said she had asked who was responsible for her murder. She was reportedly told that Krystle had been behind it.
That information affected their relationship outside the game. Soundous revealed that she avoided Krystle for months because she was unable to separate the betrayal in the game from how she felt about her afterwards.
The reunion finally gave the two an opportunity to address what had happened.
Shahneel Gill and Soundous had their own unfinished business
Another long-pending confrontation involved Shahneel Gill and Soundous.
The two revisited what happened around the Secret Tower and the accusations surrounding the events there. What followed was essentially a delayed argument that had been waiting to happen.
Soundous also continued to stand by her belief that Munawar’s elimination had more to do with personal equations than simply gameplay.
The reunion finally gave both women a chance to explain their sides.
Mallika Sherawat and Munawar were still not done
Mallika Sherawat’s time on the show may have been relatively quiet compared to some of the other contestants. However, the reunion gave her plenty to say.
She confronted Munawar over his earlier comments about her being unusually calm during the game. Mallika felt that the remarks, including the suggestion that she appeared to be under the influence of drugs, crossed a line.
She argued that contestants could question her gameplay, but bringing drugs into the conversation was different.
Munawar and Mallika once again went back and forth over what had actually been said and what it meant.
Karan Johar called out Mallika over her Rhea comment
The reunion also brought up one of the most controversial moments from the season involving Mallika and Rhea Chakraborty.
Earlier in the show, Mallika had referenced Rhea’s past legal troubles while discussing the idea of a “comeback”. The comment had received criticism at the time.
Karan Johar brought the issue up directly during the reunion and questioned whether the remark had gone too far.
Mallika defended herself by saying that she had later apologised to Rhea and that the two had eventually been on good terms.
Rhea herself, however, was not present at the reunion. Her absence was not explained during the episode.
Shalini Passi finally got to defend herself
Shalini Passi also had her moment during the reunion.
After being perceived by some contestants as naive or clueless during the game, Shalini pushed back against those impressions. Her response to being called “dumb” showed that she was far more aware of what was happening around her than her gameplay may have suggested.
The reunion gave her a chance to explain her side without having to worry about surviving another round table.
Karan Singh’s magic trick created even more chaos
And because this was a reunion of The Traitors, apparently simply sitting around and talking was not enough.
Karan Singh performed a magic segment where contestants were asked to identify who they believed could potentially be a “traitor” in real life.
The harmless-sounding game quickly became another opportunity for contestants to take digs at each other. During the chaos, Munawar and Abhishek even found some common ground.
But where was Parul Gulati?
One of the noticeable absences from the reunion was Parul Gulati.
Her name had come up during the season amid allegations that she had tried to get information about the game from a crew member. However, the reunion did not fully address the controversy surrounding those allegations.
For an episode that was largely about clearing the air and revisiting unresolved issues, this remained one of the bigger questions left unanswered.
Krystle may have won the game, but she also won the reunion
If there was one contestant who seemed particularly comfortable with revisiting everything that happened, it was Krystle.
She did not appear interested in rewriting her gameplay or distancing herself from the decisions she made. Whether it was recruiting Rida, eliminating Abhishek or discussing her opinions about the other Traitors, she largely stood by her choices.
And that might have been the biggest difference between her and some of the other contestants at the reunion.
The Traitors Season 2 may have ended with Krystle D’Souza and Rida Tharana winning the game. However, the reunion proved that the alliances, grudges and betrayals did not end with the finale.
For a season that often felt like it was running out of steam, the reunion finally delivered the one thing everyone had been waiting for: kalesh.
