Over the years, Sourav has become one of India’s most recognised vloggers by doing something most people would consider impossible: turning everyday life into content people genuinely want to watch. His videos have followed family conversations, road trips, celebrations, quiet moments at home, and everything in between. Along the way, he’s built an audience that has literally grown up with him.

Now, with the launch of his new vlogging masterclass, Sourav is opening up about the process behind his videos, the mistakes he made, the storytelling principles he follows, and why he believes anyone can start vlogging, regardless of the camera they’re using.

“You Don’t Need An Exciting Life To Start”

One misconception Sourav wants aspiring creators to forget immediately is the idea that only extraordinary lifestyles make good vlogs. According to him, some of the most loved moments on his channel aren’t expensive vacations or luxury experiences.

Instead, they’re usually the simplest ones.

“Mere vlogs mein jin moments ko sabse zyada pyaar milta hai, voh zyadatar sabse simple moments hi hote hain… family ke beech baatein, random outings ya ghar pe kuch funny hona.”

The Biggest Mistake He Made Was Trying To Impress People

Looking back at his early days, Sourav says his biggest challenge wasn’t filming or editing. It was worrying too much about what other people would think.

“The biggest mistake I made was worrying a lot about what people would think.”

He remembers constantly wondering whether he looked good on camera, spoke correctly, or whether viewers would judge him. That pressure made him behave differently on camera. Only after letting go of that fear did he feel his content improve naturally.

As he puts it:

“The audience connects with the real version of you, not the one that’s trying to impress everyone.”

The Three Questions He Constantly Asks While Filming

Although his videos feel casual, Sourav says there’s always a simple mental checklist running in his head.

Rather than thinking about how many clips he should shoot, he focuses on three questions:

  • What’s happening?
  • Why does it matter?
  • How can I make the audience feel like they’re with me?

“Kitna shoot karna hai? Main nahi sochta. Main yeh sochta hoon ki audience ko

His biggest storytelling lesson?

“Har din ek nayi story hoti hai, aap ko bas ussey dhoondhna aana chahiye.”

Make People Care Before The Big Moment Happens

If Sourav could teach aspiring vloggers just one storytelling technique, it would be this: Don’t begin with the payoff. Build anticipation first. He explains that if you’re filming a surprise, celebration, or milestone, audiences shouldn’t only see the final reveal. They should experience the planning, emotions, excitement, and uncertainty leading up to it. Using his own wedding as an example, he says viewers weren’t emotionally invested because they saw the ceremony.

They cared because they’d already witnessed the journey.

“Audience ne sirf wedding nahi dekhi, unhone poori journey dekhi thi.”

Sometimes The “Boring” Vlogs Perform The Best

Interestingly, Sourav admits that some of his favourite-performing uploads almost didn’t happen. There were days when he felt nothing significant had taken place.

“Kabhi-kabhi main edit karte time sochta tha ki yaar aaj toh kuch khaas hua hi nahi.”

But after uploading, audiences responded differently. Many viewers appreciated those videos precisely because they felt authentic and relatable. It’s another reminder that creators often judge their own content more harshly than their audience does.

Why He Finally Decided To Launch A Vlogging Masterclass

According to Sourav, one question has followed him for years:

“Bhai, vlogging kaise start karein?”

Whether through comments, messages, meet-and-greets, or everyday conversations, aspiring creators kept asking how he shoots, edits, and maintains consistency.

His answer was shaped by his own experience.

“Maine jo bhi seekha, woh trial and error se seekha.”

If sharing those lessons can save someone two or three years of struggle, he says, that’s worth doing.

What The Course Focuses On ?

Perhaps the most interesting takeaway from the interview is what Sourav deliberately chose not to teach. He says the course isn’t centred around advanced filming tricks or expensive equipment. Instead, it’s built around the fundamentals he wishes someone had explained when he was starting.

“So course banate waqt mera focus fancy techniques par nahi tha. Mera focus un basics par tha jo har creator ko pata hone chahiye, chahe uske paas phone ho ya professional camera.”

He also wanted to include the mistakes he made early in his career because, in his words, those mistakes became his biggest teachers. For Sourav, good vlogging has never been about owning the best camera. It’s about noticing stories, being authentic, and helping viewers feel like they’re living those moments alongside you.
