As we bid farewell to the year, Netflix is all set to treat K-Drama enthusiasts to a delightful lineup of new releases in December 2023. Now that the holidays are here, we’ve put together a list of the latest releases for you to binge-watch as you bring the new year in with some hot cocoa and your favorite pjs on!

My Demon 

Cast: Song Kang, Kim Yoo Jung, Lee Sang Yi, Lee Yoon Ji, Kim Hae Sook

For all the Song Kang fans upset about him enlisting in the army soon, this is your chance to get an eyeful of your favorite Oppa! The plot revolves around the devil Jung Gu Won (Song Kang) and chaebol heiress Do Do Hee (Kim Yoo Jung). One day, Gu Won runs into Do Do Hee and attempts to make a demonic deal with her but loses his powers, which get transferred to her. As they end up living together to figure things out, romance blooms amidst a lot of family drama, murder, and supernatural instances. 

Welcome to Samdalri

Cast: Ji Chang Wook, Shin Hye Sun, Kang Mi Na, Shin Dong Mi, Kim Mi Kyung 

Set against the backdrop of the serene seaside village, Samdalri, the series captures the essence of simplicity and community. The main characters in the show are Jo Sam Dal (Shin Hye Sun) and her childhood sweetheart, Jo Yong Pil (Ji Chang Wook). Yong Pil and Sam Dal grow up as best friends and then lovers, only to break up due to a tragedy later. As Sam Dal becomes a successful celebrity photographer in Seoul, Yong Pil chooses to live as a weather forecaster in his hometown and protect the ones he loves. Once her career falls apart, Sam Dal unwillingly returns home and reunites with Yong Pil and everyone else she left behind. Gyeongseong Creature 

Cast: Park Seo Joon, Han So Hee, Kim Su Hyun, Kim Hae Sook, Jo Han Chul

Prepare to be transported to the tumultuous era of the 1940s Japanese occupation of Korea in the highly anticipated period drama, Gyeongseong Creature. The narrative revolves around the characters Jang Tae Sang (Park Seo Joon) and Yun Chae Ok (Han So Hee), who are entangled in a web of mysterious missing persons cases. While Park Seo Joon delivers just as well as we expected, Han So Hee has only been getting better with each role. After The World of the Married (2020) and Nevertheless (2021), this K-beauty makes a strong comeback as Chae Ok. And for anyone who gets hooked on the show, a second season has been announced for 2024! And hooked you will be! Sweet Home 2

Cast: Song Kang, Lee Jin Wook, Lee Si Young, Go Min Si, Park Gyu Young 

After waiting almost three years since the first season, Sweet Home 2 brings Song Kang back as Cha Hyun Soo. Anveet Kaur And Shantanu Maheshwari Unveil First Look Of Their Film ‘Love In Vietnam’ At Cannes

Look forward to a fresh new Jodi as heartthrobs Avneet Kaur and Shantanu Maheshwari come together for the first time for an upcoming international film. The entertainment industries of India and Vietnam have joined hands, marking the dawn of a new era in cinematic collaboration.

The film is helmed by talented director-turned-producer Omung Kumar, joined by Director-Producer Rahhat Shah Kazmi, internationally acclaimed festival curator Captain Rahul Bali, and Abhishek Ankur.

Apart from Shantanu Maheshwari and Avneet Kaur, the film also stars Vietnamese actress Kha Ngan. The film, titled Love In Vietnam is based on the bestseller Madonna In A Fur Coat.

The excitement reached a crescendo as the first look poster of Love In Vietnam was unveiled at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival 2024. The event was graced by the presence of lead actors Shantanu Maheshwari and Avneet Kaur, director-producer Rahhat Shah Kazmi, producer Captain Rahul Bali, and co-producers Tariq Khan and Zeba Sajid.

Taking to Instagram, Avneet also shared the first look of the film with her fans on social media. “Proud to launch the first look of ‘#LovelnVietnam’ at Cannes! This is the first India-Vietnam collaboration and I couldn’t be happier sharing this with you all,” she wrote.

Shantanu too shared the same posters of the film on his Instagram account and wrote, ”Thrilled to unveil the first look of our film #LoveInVietnam at Cannes! I’m excited to finally be able to share this, our groundbreaking India-Vietnam collaboration!”

Avneet Kaur was a part of the popular movie Mardaani and made her big Bollywood debut as a lead actress in Tiku Weds Sheru opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Meanwhile, Shantanu was last seen in Netflix’s vampire drama titled Tooth Pari: When Love Bites. He also featured in Alia Bhatt-starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi, which was directed by ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
