Cricketers, Comedians and Chai: KSI’s India Trip Goes Viral

KSI (his real name is Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji, by the way), is back in India for an intense content run as part of his renewed focus on YouTube in 2026. Along with his brother Deji Olatunji and a production crew, KSI has been filming multiple formats across Mumbai and Delhi, calling India his “second home”. With over 100 million followers across platforms, KSI has returned to the space where he first built his identity, long-form and short-form YouTube content, after years spent juggling music, boxing, business and television.

Why KSI Is Focusing on YouTube Again

KSI has been open about the shift. After his last boxing bout against Tommy Fury, he found himself questioning where his energy truly belonged. Music and boxing had taken centre stage for years, but YouTube was where he felt the most creative freedom.

For him, content creation no longer feels like work. He has said the joy comes from making videos, collaborating with people he respects, and seeing immediate audience reactions. That realisation pushed him to go “all in” on YouTube again, with India becoming a key geography in that plan.

What KSI Has Filmed in India So Far

In just a few days, KSI has shot a wide mix of collaborative videos:

  • A “Guess the Cricketer” video with Shubman Gill
  • A “Guess the Bollywood Actor” video with Aamir Khan and Vir Das
  • Two “Try Not To Laugh” videos featuring Samay Raina, Tanmay Bhat, CarryMinati and Abhishek Malhan.
  • Podcast appearance: KSI also featured on The Ranveer Show, hosted by Ranveer Allahbadia, where he spoke about his YouTube comeback, India’s creator culture, and why the country feels like his second home.

Alongside these, he has been filming Reels, Shorts and behind-the-scenes content aimed at Indian audiences.

Bollywood Curiosity and Learning on the Go

KSI admits his knowledge of Indian cinema is still a work in progress. While he has reacted to Bollywood clips and edits online, he says he has not yet watched many full-length films.

That is changing. During his India shoot, Aamir Khan recommended he watch Lagaan, a suggestion KSI said he is genuinely excited about. He has also expressed interest in eventually meeting Shah Rukh Khan and learning more about Hindi cinema organically, through people rather than algorithms.

Life Beyond the Camera: Food, Culture and Mumbai Streets

Outside the studio, KSI has been leaning into local experiences. From trying vada pav and cutting chai in Mumbai to attempting spicy food despite struggling with the heat, he has been documenting everyday moments for his audience.

He has shared that visiting the country matters more than just speaking about Indian fans online. For him, physically being present is what gives creator-fan relationships real meaning.

Fan Meetups and the Indian Creator Community

KSI’s visit also included a large fan meetup in Delhi on January 10, where hundreds of fans gathered to meet him in person. The event drew a mix of long-time followers and creators from across India’s digital scene, reflecting the scale of his local fanbase.

Indian creators captured the event from multiple angles. Devansh G Sethi, a YouTuber with over 265,000 subscribers, shared a detailed vlog documenting his experience at the meetup. In his video, he described waiting in long queues, the excitement of finally seeing KSI in person, and the energy of the crowd as fans interacted with the global star. The vlog also showed glimpses of other creators and attendees, capturing crowd reactions, fan interactions and behind-the-scenes moments, underscoring how significant the event was for India’s creator community.

Participants in the vlog highlighted the meetup as a historic moment, noting that it brought together fans of varied backgrounds, from gaming and comedy enthusiasts to creators inspired by KSI’s global journey. The Delhi meetup wasn’t just about meeting a global influencer; it also created space for local creators to connect, network and share their own experiences on platforms like YouTube and Instagram.

Other creators and fans posted their own clips and photos across social media, tagging KSI and capturing moments such as personalised shout-outs, handshake lines, group photos, and short live interactions. These posts further amplified the event, turning the fan meetup into a trending topic within India’s creator circles.

For many attending Indian creators, KSI’s presence felt like recognition of India’s increasingly influential role in the global digital ecosystem. The meetup also served as a reminder of how creator communities can coalesce around shared moments, forging connections that go beyond algorithmic engagement.

India as the Starting Point for KSI’s YouTube Reset

KSI’s India trip is not just a tour stop. It reflects how India has become central to global creator strategies. With one of his biggest audiences based here, KSI is using the country as a launchpad for a new chapter that prioritises collaboration, cultural exchange and consistent YouTube storytelling.

For now, his focus remains clear. Less distraction. More content. And India is firmly at the heart of it.
