Shreya Kalra Breaks Silence on ‘Lock Upp 2’ Bias Allegations

Why is Shreya Kalra facing bias allegations?

The criticism focused on the twists, advantages and decisions made during the competition. Shreya addressed the allegations during an Instagram Ask Me Anything session. During that session, a follower questioned her about people claiming that she did not deserve the win. Instead of backing down, Shreya questioned why similar accusations were not made when other contestants received opportunities to return to the competition or benefited from other twists. She said, “You tell me if not me then who?” She went on to point out that contestants had been brought back. They were also placed in the secret room and given other opportunities during the season. Additionally, she highlighted an instance where an advantage was taken away from her and given to another contestant. She asked why those decisions were not described as bias at the time. Shreya concluded her response with, “Mic drop ho chuka hai guys.”

What twists took place during ‘Lock Upp 2’?

The second season of ‘Lock Upp’ featured several twists that significantly influenced the competition. Akanksha Choudhary returned to the game after spending time in the secret room following her eviction. Yogesh Rawat and Harshad Chopda also entered the competition as wildcards shortly before the grand finale. This gave them another opportunity to compete for the title. Shreya herself received a major advantage during a semi-final task. She was given the power to decide an immediate elimination. She chose Shivangi Joshi. However, the final decision rested with Harshad Chopda, who gave up his finalist position to save Shivangi and was eventually eliminated. These moments have since become central to the debate around the fairness of the competition and whether contestants were given unequal advantages.

What did Farah Khan say about the bias allegations?

The controversy also brought host Farah Khan into the discussion. Some viewers accused Farah of favouring Shreya because both were associated with the same talent management company, Qyuki. Farah addressed the allegations in a vlog and clarified that she was not aware of Shreya’s association with the company when the show began. She explained that she only learned about the connection after viewers started commenting that she was a biased host. Farah said she then contacted the team and confirmed that Shreya was associated with Qyuki. Furthermore, Farah also pointed out that the organisation works with numerous content creators. She said that the shared professional association did not mean she was favouring Shreya.

The ‘Lock Upp 2’ Debate Continues

Shreya Kalra’s victory continues to generate discussion among viewers even after the season’s conclusion. While critics remain doubtful about the fairness of the result, her supporters have backed her response and celebrated her journey on the show. With Shreya and Farah Khan both dismissing the allegations, the debate around ‘Lock Upp 2’ continues to play out online. For now, Shreya appears firmly behind her victory. She has made it clear that she has no intention of apologising for winning the trophy.
