Fitness Influencer Navneeth Ramprasad Opens Up About Quitting Netflix to Launch PRAAN for Aging Parents

In a heartfelt message that blends personal purpose with professional transformation, fitness influencer and former techie Navneeth Ramprasad has opened up about his decision to leave high-profile roles at Netflix and Meta to build Praan Health, a healthcare startup designed to support ageing parents across India.

The Gap in Elder Care

Taking to LinkedIn, Ramprasad shared that despite building widely used products and working with some of the best teams in the world, he felt a deep void when it came to his own parents’ health struggles. “I left Netflix to build something that didn’t exist, because my parents needed it,” he wrote. Diabetes, joint pain, and post-surgery weakness had left his parents without the structured support they needed to truly get better. A gap that no app or hospital visit alone could fill.

“Big tech taught me how to optimise,” he added. “But building something from scratch taught me what really matters and that was caring for my family.”

The Birth of Praan Health

Founded in November 2024 after his return to India, Praan Health is now headquartered in Bangalore and positioned as India’s first full-stack, family-led healthcare platform for ageing adults. The startup empowers adult children living abroad to proactively manage their parents’ health in India. Praan integrates clinical care, personalised strength training, nutrition, habit coaching, and mental health support into structured 90- and 180-day programs designed to restore strength, independence, and confidence.

A Data-Driven, Heart-Led Model

In less than a year, Praan has delivered over 18,000 strength sessions, facilitated 4,000+ personalised consultations, and built an organically growing community of more than 460,000 people. Its approach is rooted in three core pillars: Precision Movement Science, Advanced Biomarker Intelligence using AI, and Expert-Led Lifestyle Medicine, a holistic alternative to fragmented elderly care.

Mission Over Metrics

“This isn’t a job. This is my fuel,” said Ramprasad, who admits the journey has been tough, with 18-hour workdays and no startup playbook. Yet each message from a family, like “My mom has reduced her medication and is feeling stronger than ever”, has only reinforced his mission.

With Praan, Navneeth Ramprasad is turning personal pain into a public solution, one that’s not only transforming elder care in India but also setting a new benchmark for what tech, empathy, and purpose can achieve together.
