Influencer turned Actress Kusha Kapila goes Raw and Real in her Upcoming Short Film ‘Vyarth’

Breaking away from her typical comic flair, Influencer-Actress Kusha Kapila is all set to showcase a different side of her creative journey with her upcoming short film, Vyarth. Known for her sharp-witted humour and viral characters, the digital star has stepped into a far more introspective space, both in front of and behind the camera.

In Vyarth, the spotlight is on Bhumi, a struggling actress who’s had enough of being typecast. When a role as a mother is offered to her, it is met with hesitation. However, things become emotionally complex when Meenakshi, her much younger flatmate, seeks help for the very same audition. Through this simple setup, the film manages to peel back the layers of a world that’s often seen only through glamour-tinted glasses.

The short film format has been chosen deliberately. The intention was to reflect the realities of the entertainment industry sharply and powerfully, without unnecessary fluff. The hustle of independent creators, the exhausting loop of auditions, the need to stay relevant, and the quiet burnout that often goes unnoticed, everything has been subtly baked into the story.

What makes this project even more personal is Kusha’s dual role. Apart from playing the protagonist, she has also co-produced the film. The 17-page script, as shared by her, wasn’t just read, it was felt. She described the emotional resonance as instant and undeniable. She had reportedly said that the story felt like a mirror to all the things no one talks about—the behind-the-scenes battles, the silent frustrations, and the moments when dreams seem too heavy to carry.

According to her, what sets Vyarth apart is its universal relatability. Whether one is an actor, a creator, or just someone trying to be seen for who they are, the film speaks to that very human need for recognition. She strongly believed that everyone watching Vyarth would find a sliver of themselves or someone they know within its carefully crafted narrative.

The short is being seen as not just a film, but a quiet rebellion, a reminder that sometimes the loudest truths are hidden in the stories that go unheard.
