International Music Day: 5 Indian Music Creators To Follow On Instagram

This International Music Day, Instagram has become another space where artists are finding audiences, experimenting with sounds and sharing their work. From independent singers and songwriters to DJs and composers, creators are using Reels, covers and original music to connect with listeners in new ways. This special day, here are five Indian music creators bringing different sounds and styles to your Instagram feed. 

1. Romi Mukherjee – @romimukherjeemusic

Singer and composer Romi Mukherjee brings a fresh take to Indian melodies through covers, devotional music and original songs. Her Instagram profile combines performances with short-form content, while her work also spans live performances and independent releases. Romi has spoken about discovering her connection with music as early as school and eventually moving to Mumbai to pursue it professionally. She has also appeared on Big FM with Anup Jalota, where she performed a Krishna bhajan. 2. Siddhant Sharma – @siddhant_sharma.music

Annkur R Pathakk is a singer, composer and performer who has moved between independent music and mainstream film projects. His track Mera Hua, from Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, was released in October 2025, with Annkur credited as both performer and composer alongside Sachin Urmtosh. The song went on to cross 60 million views, according to music publication Filme Shilmy, adding a major mainstream milestone to his journey.

5. DJ Koyel – @itskoyel

For anyone who loves a good mashup, DJ Koyel brings a completely different sound to the list. Koyel Das is a Kolkata-based DJ and producer known for her open-format sets and mashups. Her Instagram profile identifies her as the “SOS Queen of Mashups,” and she has built an audience of more than 80,000 followers on the platform. Her content adds the DJ and electronic-music side to a list otherwise dominated by singers and songwriters.
