Who Is Narpat Singh?

He has spent more than fifteen years protecting the fragile ecosystem of the Thar Desert. His work goes far beyond tree plantation. Moreover, through wildlife rescue efforts, water conservation initiatives, bird nest installations, and awareness campaigns, Narpat Singh has become a beacon of community-led environmental action in one of India’s most challenging landscapes.

How Did His Journey Begin?

Every movement starts with a small act. For Narpat Singh, it began with just four seeds planted in barren desert land. Watching those saplings survive in the unforgiving desert conditions sparked something within him. What started as a personal effort gradually evolved into a lifelong mission to restore ecological balance in Rajasthan’s arid regions.

Over the years, he continued planting, protecting, and nurturing the desert around him. This proved that persistence can transform even the harshest environments.

What Work Does He Do?

His conservation efforts extend across Barmer and nearby desert districts including Jaisalmer and Jodhpur. In these areas, rising temperatures and limited water resources pose serious threats to biodiversity.

Is The Man Behind Thousands Of Water Stations And Bird Nests?

Narpat Singh has been seen installing water systems and feeding arrangements designed specifically for wildlife. From peacocks and birds to injured owls and other desert creatures, his efforts focus on ensuring that animals have the support they need during Rajasthan’s brutal summers.

His work reflects an understanding that conservation isn’t only about planting trees. Instead, it’s about creating entire ecosystems where life can thrive.

From Barmer To A Guinness World Record

Narpat Singh’s mission eventually extended beyond Rajasthan. On 27 January 2019, he reportedly began a nationwide cycling campaign from Jammu. This campaign aimed to spread awareness about environmental conservation, water preservation, and plantation drives.

Over the course of this journey, he covered more than 30,000 kilometres across multiple states. In addition, he planted over 80,000 trees, a feat that earned him recognition in the Guinness World Records. The campaign transformed him from a local environmental worker into a national voice advocating for grassroots climate action.
