In 2006, four-year-old Prince Kumar fell into a 60-foot-deep uncovered borewell in Haldaheri village, Kurukshetra. What followed was a rescue operation that gripped the nation for nearly 50 hours.

Rescue teams worked relentlessly, lowering food like biscuits and chocolates through ropes, pumping oxygen into the narrow shaft, and even using a closed-circuit camera to monitor the child’s condition deep underground.

When initial attempts failed, the Indian Army stepped in to lead the mission, racing against time to bring the child back safely.

And then, on July 23, 2006…Prince was pulled out alive.
