He built an audience in India before becoming the fourth member of Boy Throb. Boy Throb was formed in late 2025 by Evan Papier, Anthony Key, Zachary Sobania and Darshan Magdum. While the first three members are based in Los Angeles, Darshan remained in India.

The group hoped this milestone would strengthen Darshan’s O-1 visa application.

But the visa process was not straightforward. In March, the group revealed that immigration authorities had requested additional evidence for Darshan’s application. Rather than disappearing, Boy Throb continued documenting the process through its content. For example, they created a video explaining parts of the visa application using a parody of “Mambo No. 5.”

The band also continued building its case as an actual musical act. They released original songs, performed live and eventually collaborated with Kesha on “DJ Turn It Down.”

While Boy Throb continued growing, Darshan’s absence became increasingly noticeable. At a sold-out New York performance, he joined the show remotely from India. His face appeared on a screen while fans reportedly chanted for his visa.

The group also staged performances with Darshan appearing virtually. This approach reinforced the unusual reality of Boy Throb: the fourth member was central to the band even though he could not physically be there.

After Months Of Waiting, Darshan Finally Gets His Visa

On August 3, Darshan finally delivered the update Boy Throb had been building toward. During a FaceTime call with Anthony, Evan and Zachary, he told them that his visa had been approved. The three members celebrated the news together. In doing so, they turned what had been months of uncertainty into one of the band’s biggest moments.

Boy Throb had spent months making Darshan’s immigration journey part of its public story. Reports also said the group had spent more than $10,000 on legal and processing fees during the effort. Now, the storyline has reached its final chapter.

Darshan Day Will Finally Bring All Four Members Together

Boy Throb has announced “Darshan Day” for October 16 at American Dream in New Jersey, marking Darshan’s first arrival in the US. The event will be free for fans, with Throbbers asked to RSVP through the band’s Instagram bio. The organisers say registration will help them plan security and staffing. Meanwhile, it will also allow them to send updates to attendees.

An Entry Pass will be provided to registered fans, although the organisers have clarified that a pass is not required to attend the event. The first 2,000 Entry Pass holders will get access to a designated section near the stage on a first-come, first-served basis. Most importantly, the event will finally give Boy Throb something its content has been missing for months: all four members in the same place.

After being edited into videos, appearing on screens, represented by cardboard cutouts and joining performances remotely, Darshan will finally be able to walk onto a US stage alongside his bandmates.
