LinkedIn Rolls Out Personalised ‘Year in Review’ Summaries for Users
LinkedIn’s Year in Review shows users a personalised snapshot of connections, activity, engagement patterns and profile milestones.
LinkedIn has begun rolling out personalised “Year in Review” summaries to users, offering a snapshot of how they used the platform over the past year. The feature is being gradually made available to all users and is designed as a reflective overview of individual activity on the app. Users can access their Year in Review by searching for “LinkedIn Year in Review” within the app or by tapping on the in-feed notification.
What the Year in Review Shows
The LinkedIn Year in Review provides a detailed breakdown of a user’s activity across the platform. This includes the number of new connections made, followers gained, and insights into where those connections work. It also highlights how many connections changed jobs during the year.
The summary covers posting behaviour as well, showing how many posts and comments a user shared, along with certifications earned and skills added. It also reminds users when they first joined LinkedIn, adding a timeline element to the overview.
Engagement and Activity Patterns
In addition to activity counts, the Year in Review shows when users are most active during the day. This offers a simple look at engagement habits, such as preferred posting or browsing times.

The feature also highlights which connections a user engaged with the most over the year, helping identify key professional interactions. In some cases, it may also include a reminder of a user’s very first LinkedIn connection.

Character Summary Feature
LinkedIn has also added a short character summary as part of the Year in Review. This aims to describe who a user is professionally, based on their activity, engagement, and behaviour on the platform throughout the year.
While the summary is largely light-hearted, it is meant to give users a quick sense of how their LinkedIn presence comes across.
Purpose and Limitations for the ‘Year in Review’
The Year in Review is positioned as a visual and engaging recap rather than a deep analytical tool. It serves as either a motivation to be more active next year or a reinforcement of the effort users have already put into building their professional presence.
While the feature does not provide advanced insights such as repeat profile visits or deeper audience behaviour, it does offer a clean overview of LinkedIn usage in one place.
Language Availability for Year in Review
LinkedIn’s Year in Review summaries are currently available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. The company has not yet shared whether additional insights or expanded metrics will be added in future versions.
