Why Is Trinetra Haldar Criticising Orry And KK Create's Podcast? Here's What Happened

What Happened On The Podcast?

A recent episode of creator KK Create’s podcast featuring social media personality Orry sparked discussion online. This happened after clips from the conversation began circulating on Instagram. During the discussion, Orry reportedly questioned whether people would be comfortable with “a man with a dingdong peeing next to your daughter” while talking about transgender restroom access. Influencer Trinetra Haldar was mentioned in many of the ensuing conversations. The clips quickly attracted reactions online. Some viewers supported the conversation. However, others criticised the way the topic was framed.

Why Did Trinetra Haldar Respond?

Actor, creator, doctor, and transgender advocate Trinetra Haldar publicly addressed the clips through an Instagram post. She said she came across excerpts from the podcast on her feed. Because of this, she felt concerned about people discussing transgender issues without either expertise or lived experience.

“I have listened to the complete podcast, it wasn’t any dig to any gender or community…” one viewer commented under her post, arguing that Orry was simply advocating for separate safe spaces and that his comments were being misinterpreted.

Responding to the comment, Trinetra explained that her concern extended beyond the full podcast episode itself. Instead, she focused on how the discussion was being packaged and distributed online.

“Let’s be real. Very few people will watch the whole podcast, and that was problematic too. People will however watch the edited clips on Instagram. Anything for engagement and views is not okay,” she replied.

According to Trinetra, edited clips often become the primary way audiences consume podcast content. Therefore, it is even more important for creators to ensure discussions are properly contextualised.

What Did Trinetra Say About Transgender Restroom Access?

In her original post, Trinetra shared her personal experiences as a transgender woman. She explained that there was a period in her life when both men’s and women’s restrooms felt unsafe.

“I am a transgender woman who at one point could not use the male or the female restroom because both had become very unsafe,” she wrote.

She argued that the discussion should focus on ensuring safe restroom access for everyone. Rather than that, people often create fear around transgender people.

“So irresponsible of you @kk.create – please do better. No one’s asking your daughters to share restrooms with men. The ask is simple – that everyone have access to use a safe restroom.”

Trinetra further suggested that if separate male, female, and gender-neutral restrooms improve safety for all users, such solutions should be considered.

Who Is Trinetra Haldar?

Trinetra Haldar is a transgender actor, doctor, content creator, and LGBTQIA+ advocate with nearly 400K followers on Instagram. She is known for speaking about gender identity, inclusion, mental health, and transgender rights. She does this through both her content and public advocacy work.

Why Is The Debate Gaining Attention?

The conversation has evolved beyond a disagreement between creators. It has become part of a larger discussion around representation, accountability, and how podcasts handle social issues. While some viewers believe the podcast was discussing safety concerns, critics argue that the framing of transgender people in such conversations can reinforce harmful stereotypes when not backed by facts or lived experience.

As the clips continue to circulate online, the debate highlights growing questions about who gets to shape public conversations around transgender rights. Furthermore, it raises questions about the responsibility creators have when discussing topics that directly impact marginalised communities.
