As tensions escalated on the India–Pakistan border late Thursday night, a personal story quietly stood out on social media. Comedian Samay Raina, whose father is currently in Jammu, shared a deeply moving account of their phone call — a moment filled with both love and fear — just as news broke that Indian forces had neutralised incoming Pakistani drone and missile attacks aimed at multiple military locations.

According to official reports, strikes were repelled across Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. Indian defence forces confirmed that incoming threats had been intercepted, while blackout protocols were enforced across large stretches of the western border.
A Father’s Calm Voice: Samay Raina’s Emotional Moment Goes Viral
Amid this, Raina took to Instagram to share how his father called him “one last time tonight” from Jammu. His father’s voice, described as calm and steady, had reassured him that the Indian Army was in control. Raina admitted that while his father urged him not to worry, the emotional weight of the moment stayed with him. The comedian later wrote about standing in his Mumbai home, switching off the lights, and wondering if his neighbour had someone posted on the front.
“His calmness quiets my restless thoughts… I wonder if [my neighbour] might be the son of a brave soldier who won’t sleep tonight, waiting for a morning call from his father on the front lines.”

Meanwhile, national reports suggested unconfirmed retaliatory activity by India, with possible drone strikes in Sialkot, Lahore, and even Islamabad. It was also reported that at least one Pakistani aircraft, possibly an F-16, had been downed and a pilot captured, though official confirmation was awaited.
