The trend of influencers and content creators has risen rapidly in recent years as it allows direct interaction with audiences, encouraging a sense of loyalty. These days audiences connect more with influencers than actors/celebrities, as they view them to be more relatable and authentic. A lot of celebrities have turned into content creators to widen their horizons. And it’s not just celebs, there is a whole bunch of Radio Jockeys who have turned to creating content, enabling them to reach broader audiences and diversify their careers. RJs utilize platforms like YouTube and Instagram to create video content, vlogs, and behind-the-scenes footage, expanding their presence and engaging with fans visually.

Karishma Gangwal
Karishma belongs to a Kashmiri family that was born and raised in Jammu, and later moved to Indore but now live in Mumbai. She is a well-known radio jockey from RedFm 93.5, who is also known for her significant presence as a YouTuber and social influencer. She has a show of her own called “Lights Out with RJ Karishma” where she advises on life and love. At a young age, she has amassed an impressive following with over 7 million subscribers on YouTube and 7 million followers on Instagram.
She is particularly renowned for her “Mummy Ji” comedy series on YouTube. Karishma has made India proud as she happens to be one of the content creators to walk the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival 2024. Her confident walk on the red carpet has impressed the masses. Over her impactful journey in the entertainment world, Karishma has collaborated with renowned personalities across the industries like Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, and many more.
Naved Khan
One word that would describe Naved is ‘entertainer’. He is one of India’s top-rated radio jockeys who has become a household name in India after running his show on Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM, now known as Mirchi. Naved’s radio journey started in 2004 when he won the RJ hunt. Before that, he worked at a call center and wanted more people to listen to him. He then began with a program called Dr Love where he would talk to people about their relationship issues. Naved enjoys experimenting with different types of short-format content which leaves the audience in splits. His “Murga Pranks” and “Lift Pranks” often go viral on social media. He has a massive following of over 4 million subscribers on YouTube and 6.6 million followers on Instagram, continuing to take netizens on a laughter riot.
Abhinav Chand
Abhinav Chand, who is better known as RJ Abhinav, started making funny videos much before content creation on Instagram gained popularity. The 32-year-old RJ-turned-comedy-content-creator has 4.3 million and 2.53 million followers on Instagram and YouTube respectively and is immensely popular for his mehendi-wala videos. Though, Abhinav is an engineer by profession he always enjoyed listening to the radio. Furthermore, eventually wished to make his career in it. After winning a radio contest, Abhinav set his first step in the world of entertainment. He started freelancing with 98.3 radio station, Mirchi (Delhi) and simultaneously started making videos. Well, his journey from an engineer to now a renowned content creator, Abhinav is here to stay!
Raunac
Raunac is a famous Radio Jockey known for his character “Bauaa.” He joined the Radio Industry in 2010 and did a show on Zee News – ‘Fun Ki Baat’. He has bagged 1 million followers on Instagram where he shares relatable meme content. However, He has not 1 but 3 YouTube channels- RJ Raunac, RJ Raunac No-Po. However, Asli Bauaa where he entertains his fans with varied videos based on news, comedy, and pranks. Recently, Raunac bagged the National Creators Award 2024, making him one of the prominent creators in the digital space. Raghav
RJ Raghav gained fame through his engaging and humorous style as a radio jockey for 104.8FM. His witty sense of humor and relatable content make him a beloved personality among listeners. However, he became the talk of the town after a video featuring him singing “Taal se taal mila” went viral on social media platforms. The video garnered millions of views on YouTube. Ever since then, the Kanpur-based Raghav has been bestowed the title of ‘Expression King’ by citizens for his flawless expressions, cheerful smile, and singing talent. He has 2 million followers on IG, 1.21 million subscribers on YouTube and has now completely moved into content creation.
Mahvash Amu
Mahvash Amu started her career during her final year of college. Furthermore, when she secured a position at Radio Mirchi 98.3 as a radio jockey. She gained widespread recognition as a radio jockey with her captivating voice and dynamic interaction with listeners. She is known for her prank calls, which became a trademark of her radio shows. Apart from her radio career, she expanded her presence to social media platforms creating humorous videos. In 2022, she hosted the Amazon miniTV’s Playground Season 1 which featured Carry Minati, and Harsh Beniwal, amongst others. Her authenticity and charm have earned her a loyal fan base for herself.
Prajakta Koli
Actor and YouTuber Prajakta Koli has come a long way. She began her media career as an intern at Fever 104 FM radio station in Mumbai. After interning for a year, she was allowed to run her first show, Call Centre. She quit the radio channel after the show’s commercial failure. In 2015, Prajakta launched her channel MostlySane. She gained more than 5.4 million subscribers on her channel in just 5 short years. Besides, thanks to the popularity of her quick-witted content. Her videos are focused mostly on observational comedy related to daily life situations. She is also known for her lead role in the Netflix romantic drama Mismatched.
