Why Visa Chose Aakanksha Monga for Its New Travel Campaign

Why has Visa partnered with Aakanksha Monga?

Visa has partnered with Indian travel creator Aakanksha Monga to promote its Visa Power Travel rewards programme. The campaign encourages Indian cardholders to maximise their international travel spending. Instead of conventional advertising, Visa chose a creator whose audience actively seeks travel advice. The partnership reflects influencers’ growing role in fintech and travel marketing.

What is the Visa Power Travel programme?

Visa Power Travel is a rewards programme available to eligible Visa credit, debit and prepaid cardholders issued in India. After enrolling, users can earn rewards on eligible international transactions made during the campaign period. The initiative aims to add value to overseas spending by rewarding travellers for purchases made while shopping, dining, commuting and booking experiences abroad.

What rewards can travellers earn?

The programme offers 0.5% base rewards on eligible international transactions, along with an additional 10% reward when payments are made using Tap to Pay or through participating Visa travel and shopping partners. Travellers who spend ₹1 lakh internationally and complete 20 eligible overseas transactions can also unlock a ₹10,000 Jetsetter Bonus. Rewards can be redeemed as Air India or Amazon Pay e-gift cards. The campaign runs from 20 April 2026 to 30 September 2026, or until the reward inventory is exhausted.

Why is Aakanksha Monga the right fit for this campaign?

Known for her practical travel hacks, budget-friendly itineraries and destination guides, Aakanksha Monga has built one of India’s most influential travel-focused communities. She has travelled to more than 50 countries and regularly shares tips on planning affordable international trips. Her content naturally aligns with Visa’s objective of educating travellers on how to maximise benefits while travelling overseas.

What makes Aakanksha Monga one of India’s leading travel creators?

Beyond being a travel influencer, Aakanksha is the founder of TravelAMore and also runs Creator Takeoff Academy, where she mentors aspiring content creators. She has built a digital presence spanning millions of followers across platforms, including more than one million YouTube subscribers. Her portfolio also includes collaborations with brands such as Google, Samsung, Intel and multiple international tourism boards.

What does this collaboration reveal about modern brand marketing?

The partnership highlights how brands are increasingly turning to trusted creators to communicate financial products in a relatable way. As Visa continues expanding its travel ecosystem through rewards and travel-focused initiatives, collaborating with a creator like Aakanksha Monga allows the company to connect with India’s fast-growing community of digital-first travellers while making travel rewards easier to understand and use.
